C.J. Reiz

Christopher (CJ) Reiz was born in Fort Worth, Texas on March 8, 1972. He is an U.S. Air Force Veteran who served from May 18, 1995 to October 28, 2016. He started off his Air Force career as an Intelligence Officer, spent some time as an Intelligence Flight Commander, and by the end of his career he was a Chief of Mission Systems and Applications. During his time in the Air Force, he received multiple medals, including but not limited to the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Nuclear Deterrence Operations Service Medal. After 21 years of service, he was medically discharged and now works as a real estate agent helping service members and first responders find housing.

In his interview, CJ Reiz talks about growing up as a military brat and never staying in one area for too long since his father served in the military. Besides being a part of a military family growing up, his first military experience occurred when he got involved in Air Force ROTC Detachment 775 at University of South Carolina. After graduating college, CJ attended a technical school in San Angelo, Texas where he spent nine months training to become an intelligence officer. Within his first week as an intelligence officer, he was responsible for giving a briefing for the Wing Commander following the bombing of the Khobar Towers which resulted in the deaths of 19 Airmen and wounded many others and their families. Throughout his career as an Intelligence Officer he had different responsibilities depending on where he was stationed, some of which included leadership briefs and making sure his air crews were well informed. Towards the end of his military service, he began to develop numerous medical issues that impacted his day-to-day work and would eventually lead him to being medically discharged from the Air Force. He now works as a real estate agent and is still able to make an impact on the military community by helping military families find housing.
